Silicon Valley Women Associationis a non-profit organization for professional women. We provide a social network to enrich the lives of our members. We are dedicated to supporting worthwhile causes, such as the education of future generations. We offer various development programs to help women improve their careers, health and education. We reach out to the community to cultivate our culture and heritage. In 2007, the executive team of Silicon Valley Women will focus their work on "charity, community service and culture." Silicon Valley Women Association is a committed supporter of the education of Chinese children living in poverty. Our goal is to build the first "Silicon Valley Women" elementary school in China. Our mission has touched many acclaimed Chinese artists in San Francisco Bay Area including special celebrity guests. Their finest performances had brought the most memorable charity success to Bay Area Chinese community. Our activities are fully supported by local organizations, Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in San Francisco, and American mainstream including California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. In 2005 and 2006, we presented two successful charity performances that brought out an outpouring of support throughout the Bay Area for the needy Chinese children. We collected over $11,000 in donations to the Shin Shin Educational Foundation, which has started the construct of “Silicon Valley Shin Shin Elementary School” in a poor region of Sichuan, China. Our engagement in completing this elementary school relies upon the care and generosity of people from around the Bay Area. Please join our effort to raise another $6000 this year for the teaching materials, computers and internet support to our school.
