特邀画家陈保平简介: 
陈保平先生84年毕业于广州美术学院,并留校任教。之后留学美国继续深造,
专攻西方美术,92年毕业于三藩市美术学院获硕士学位,95年起任教于该学
院(ACADMY OF ART COLLEGE),现为该美术学院研究生院研究生导师。
陈保平先生从93年起成为三藩市TRIANGLE GALLEGY画廊的专属画家,并多次
举行个人画展。93年在加州艺术博物馆举行个人画展,并举行艺术专题讲座,
其作品被该艺术博物馆收藏。

讲座活动聚会地点方向:

入口大门将在讲座开始后关闭。

REPORT “硅谷女性”举行野餐会 BY 曾宁

公布“情人节征文大赛”结果, 星岛专栏作家德蓉谈“女强人”

6月12日,宜人的阳光夏日,蓝天如洗,和风习习,Sunnyvale的Fair Oak Park内,
欢声喧哗。“硅谷女性”在这里举行了一次既有趣又富有意义的野餐会。“硅谷女 性”的横篇在绿荫下,份外耀眼。在蓝点会长的主持下,负责人非文,HEIDI等人一大早就忙碌起来,买食物和饮料,布置场地,将准备工作作得十分妥贴。正午前后,朋友们陆续来到,享受丰盛的菜肴和饮品,随意漫谈。待大家饱了口福之后,星岛电台两位鼎鼎有名的节目主持人:丁维平和王凯拿起麦克风,拉开序幕。蓝点会长致词,介绍本会领导层的成员。
应邀前来的星岛日报副刊专栏作家德蓉女士略就今天的话题“我眼里的女强人”作了阐述。旧金山“美华文协”会长刘荒田,以复审评委的身份,介绍了今年春天“硅谷女性”主办(美华文协和文心社协办)“情人节征文大奖赛”的过程和结果,这一次由“硅谷女性”公关(同时是“美华文协”秘书长)曾宁负责具体操作全程、主要通过网络进行的文学竞技节目,共收到美国、中国大陆和其他地区的稿件150篇,初选由文心社负责,在社长施雨的主持下,筛选出22篇。再交旧金山“美华文协”的作家刘荒田、李硕儒、程宝林、阙维杭、邵丹作出复审,从中选出9篇。最后送到
名诗人和散文家北岛的手中。经过初审、复审和终审三个关卡后,结果如下:
第一名(从缺),第二名:刺杀情人节(作者烟然),第三名:知道我在等你
吗?(作者宗赔儿)。优秀奖7篇(按来稿日期先后排列):百度与游女(作者大刚),
冬天+夏天=春天(作者Silverwing),茉莉心泉(作者吟寒,文心社成员),滴
眼液(作者汪洋)、爱不可轻言(作者怀宇,美华文协成员)、剪趾甲(作者爱的
天使),香江情怀(作者吕红,美华文协副会长)。
接着,被誉为“湾区最具人气的专栏作家”的德蓉女士,和大家座谈,深入讨论“女强人”这一称谓的涵意,德蓉现身说法,妙语如珠,朋友们十分尽兴。参与这一活动的,还有美华文协副会长程宝林,这位在80年代以“大学校园诗
人”之名在大陆诗坛崭露头角、一边做诗和散文饮誉海外文坛的才子,向大家谈了进入旧金山加大攻读美术硕士学位的甘苦。越剧著名演员、曾经多次获得全国性奖项的王君安小姐亦来到野餐会。末尾,硅谷女性的创会者余雪,刚刚从大陆回来,风尘仆仆地赶到,又引起一阵欢呼。
朋友们在荫下或下棋、或打牌,或群聚聊天,或和小孩玩耍,十分愉快。直到4时,大家才依依不舍地离开。

Preston Ni Biography:

Preston Ni is a professor, coach, trainer, and course designer in the areas of professional communication, cross-cultural understanding, and interpersonal effectiveness. Since 1990, thousands of participants have benefited from his dynamic and powerful courses. He has worked with clients ranging from Fortune 500 stalwarts Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, and Yahoo!, to individual professionals seeking to enhance their communication success.
Professor Ni holds a Master of Science Degree in Business Administration, and is full-professor of the Speech Communication Department at Foothill College in Silicon Valley, California. Recently he appeared twice on the television show “China Crosstalk”, and was featured on the KTSF evening news and the Sing Tao Daily.
Professor Ni is the author of “How to Communicate Effectively and Handle Difficult People” and “With Dignity and Honor: Understanding Racism, Unlearning Racism”. He is also the keynote speaker on the video program “Cross-Cultural Communication: East and West”, featured on the Business and Technology Network and the National Technological University Network.
